“Shared Space, a creative convolution of human-AI collaboration,” an exhibition of works by fine art photographer Ann Elliott Cutting, opens Saturday, May 20, 2023, hosted by the South Pasadena Arts Council (SPARC) at the SPARC Gallery in South Pasadena, with a reception from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.
Cutting, an award-winning conceptual commercial and fine art photographer and a faculty member at ArtCenter College of Design, explores collaborative creativity with artificial intelligence entity Midjourney to produce images she describes as the merging of conceptual photography and illustration. “This exhibition,” she writes, “invites viewers to engage with the product of human artistry and AI innovation…. This is an evolving landscape of artistic expression, highlighting the cooperative potential of human and AI partnerships.”
Admission to “Shared Space” is free. Following the May 20 opening, gallery hours will vary. To schedule a visit, contact Blue Trimarchi at (626) 676-4195.
