The Pasadena Festival of Tea will take place at the Storrier Stearns Japanese Garden, providing a unique opportunity for tea lovers, and garden lovers alike, to learn from experts about different types of tea, both caffeinated and herbal blends, from Asia and beyond.

A limited number of visitors will be able to participate in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony, held at 1pm and again at 2pm with Mikko Nakatomi in the beautiful Niko-an teahouse (advanced reservations are required).

Major local tea vendors will be present to share their knowledge of tea, including Denong Tea, Tea Habitat, Hankook Tea, Teaful, Glenburn Tea, and People’s Potions. Visitors can sample teas using small tea tasting cups that will be included in the admission price and distributed at check-in.

During the afternoon, presentations will be given including Classic Japanese Teas; Phoenix Dan Cong Oolong Tea; Darjeeling, Champagne of Teas; and an Introduction to Pu’erh Tea.

The festival is one of the garden’s regular Open Day Last Sundays. Admission includes a tasting cup and is $15 at the gate and $10 if reserved online in advance. There is an additional charge to participate in a tea ceremony. Reservations close at 5pm on March 24th.
