A message from the City of San Gabriel: “We’re keeping a close eye on weather and are going to do our best to get Santa out to SG residents, but if it gets really wet and bad (which National Weather Service is telling us heavy downpour and thunderstorm for 5:00-8:00 pm) we might have to cancel and have Santa indoors. We will make the call around 5:00 pm tonight and the following nights, and post an update on SGFD’s social media.”
Santa Claus is coming to town!
Santa will be traveling through the City of San Gabriel from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm Wednesday, December 20 through Saturday, December 23. He will be escorted by San Gabriel firefighters and policemen aboard the antique 1957 Mack fire engine.
Below are the dates and areas that Santa Claus will be visiting each night:
- Wednesday, December 20
Southwest (south of the railroad tracks to the I-10 freeway and from Del Mar Avenue, west to New Avenue).
- Thursday, December 21
Southeast (south of the railroad tracks to the I-10 freeway and from Del Mar Avenue, east to Charlotte Avenue).
- Friday, December 22
Northwest (north of the railroad tracks to Longden Avenue and from Del Mar Avenue, west to Alhambra Road).
- Saturday, December 23
Northeast (north of the railroad tracks to Longden Avenue and from Del Mar Avenue, east to Muscatel Avenue).
All residents and visitors are encouraged to take part in this festive occasion, as Santa Claus brings the spirit of the season to the streets of San Gabriel.
Note that Santa’s visit may be canceled if weather conditions impede his travel. For ease of travel, Santa’s sleigh may travel through an unincorporated section of San Gabriel County in order to return to his route.
