Movie in Central Park (Photo – City of Pasadena)
The City of Pasadena is offering a free movie screening in Central Park in honor of pride month.
Come out to the park, and enjoy a free screening of To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (1995) PG-13 – 108 min. Three New York drag queens travel cross-country on their way to Hollywood, but a broken-down car strands them in a narrow-minded Midwestern town, where they share makeup tips with the ladies and show the hostile men how to treat women right. The film’s versatile cast includes Wesley Snipes, Patrick Swayze, John Leguizamo, Stockard Channing, and Blythe Danner.
This screening in Central Park is situated next to the rose garden and under Castle Green, offering a great location for a picnic in the park prior to the film. Enjoy fun surprises, music by our favorite DJ Glenn Red, and sweet treats (while supplies last). Bring your own chairs and blankets to Central Park, but be considerate of others and try not to block anyone’s view.
Music and Special Activities begin at 6:00 pm. The film begins at dusk (approximately 8:15 pm).
Wear your “Say Something Hat” to be judged and have a chance to win our prize package generously provided by Old Pasadena businesses:
