The City of Pasadena will host a free public watch party on Friday, June 12, 2026, celebrating the opening World Cup match between the United States and Paraguay.

The event, presented in partnership with the Pasadena Center Operating Company (PCOC) and Los Angeles County Fifth District with funding from LA Metro, will begin at 4:30 pm at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium Plaza, located at 300 E. Green St. Kickoff for the match is scheduled for 6:00 pm.

Organizers said the plaza and surrounding street area will be transformed into a community gathering space designed to provide a “transit-first” experience for soccer fans of all ages.

“We are thrilled to welcome the excitement and energy of the world’s biggest soccer tournament to our city,” said Michael Ross, CEO of PCOC. “We’re looking forward to bringing the community and visitors together for a wonderful evening to cheer on Team USA and celebrate the spirit of the game.”

Los Angeles County Fifth District Supervisor Kathryn Barger said Pasadena’s role as a host city offers an opportunity to showcase the region to a global audience.

“Pasadena’s role as a host city is a big point of pride for Los Angeles County and a chance to showcase our community on a global stage,” Barger said. “This watch party will bring neighbors and visitors together through the unifying power of soccer. I encourage fans to take advantage of public transportation and enjoy all that Pasadena and its surrounding communities have to offer.”

The event will include food trucks, live music, family-friendly activities, soccer-themed games, and a beer garden with drinks available for purchase. Attendees are also encouraged to wear soccer gear and jerseys for custom iron-on artwork activities.

Angel City Football Club is expected to participate in the event with giveaways, raffles, and additional soccer-themed activations for attendees.

      How to Get There

City officials are encouraging fans to use public transportation to reach the event. The Metro A Line provides access through Memorial Park Station and Del Mar Station, both located about a 10-minute walk from the venue. Metro representatives will also provide music, match highlights, and wayfinding assistance at stations to help guide attendees.

Organizers said the event site, sidewalks, and crossings will be accessible for individuals using wheelchairs and other mobility devices. Metro rail stations, buses, and trains are also ADA-accessible.

Pets and emotional support animals will not be permitted at the event. Only trained service animals assisting individuals with disabilities will be allowed.
