Pasadena Public Library Road Stop #4: Wizarding World of Lego Engineering

On Saturday, June 20, at 11:00 am, stop in for some whimsy at Road Stop #4 on Pasadena Public Library’s Summer “Road to Reading:” Wizarding World of LEGO® Engineering.

Stop by Hill Avenue Branch Library, 55 S. Hill Ave., and step into the world of Harry Potter and join the Order of the Phoenix. The Death Eaters are approaching, and Kreacher the House Elf has offered to hide us from them at 12 Grimmauld Place. Build a version of 12 Grimmauld Place that appears and disappears between neighboring homes using hand-powered linkage, allowing access only to members of the Order of the Phoenix. For ages 5-12.

Pasadena Public Library celebrates the power of reading this summer with the annual Summer Reading Program, running from Saturday, June 13, through Saturday, August 1. Participants of all ages are invited to sign up online at Pasadena.Beanstack.Com/Reader365 or visit one of Pasadena’s 10 branch libraries to sign up in person.

This summer’s theme, “On the Road to Reading,” celebrates the 100th anniversary of U.S. Route 66 or U.S. Highway 66 (US 66 or Route 66), one of the original highways in the United States Numbered Highway System. The all-ages program encourages participants to experience their library as a space for both knowledge and fun, incorporating reading, exciting events and games.

Summer Reading programs foster community, aid children in knowledge and skill retention and encourage the importance of lifelong learning. Throughout the seven-week program, children, teens and adults participate in activities focused on reading, learning and building community by completing BINGO cards and journeying through a Route 66 attractions map.

As you travel the Road to Reading this summer, be sure to make frequent stops along your reading journey to enjoy the special summer programs. This program is sponsored by The Friends of the Pasadena Public Library.

For a complete list of library programs and events, visit their events calendar at CityOfPasadena.Net/Library/Calendar/.
