Pasadena Public Library celebrates the power of reading this summer with the annual Summer Reading Program, running from Saturday, June 13, through Saturday, August 1. Participants of all ages are invited to sign up online at Pasadena.Beanstack.Com/Reader365 or visit one of Pasadena’s 10 branch libraries to sign up in person.
This summer’s theme, “On the Road to Reading,” celebrates the 100th anniversary of U.S. Route 66 or U.S. Highway 66 (US 66 or Route 66), one of the original highways in the United States Numbered Highway System. The all-ages program encourages participants to experience their library as a space for both knowledge and fun, incorporating reading, exciting events and games.
Summer Reading programs foster community, aid children in knowledge and skill retention and encourage the importance of lifelong learning. Throughout the seven-week program, children, teens and adults participate in activities focused on reading, learning and building community by completing BINGO cards and journeying through a Route 66 attractions map.
As you travel the Road to Reading this summer, be sure to make frequent stops along your reading journey to enjoy the special summer programs. This program is sponsored by The Friends of the Pasadena Public Library.
