Tough times, say North Figueroa Bookshop organizers, are exactly when we need to gather, and they’re inviting folks to do so in the garb of their favorite decade: Roaring 20s, 70s Disco, 40s Swing…and celebrate Party on Purpose: Your Complete Guide to Eco-Chic Entertaining this Saturday, June 6, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.

Join author Cheryl Leutjen, aka the Eco-Worrier, for the book launch that of course, had to be a party. Rep your favorite era with pride. Any decade, any vibe. Costumes optional. Dancing à la your decade optional.

The invitation is to join others with intention, and with really good snacks. Because that’s exactly what this book is about: gathering with intention, celebrating with joy, and proving that you don’t have to choose between a great party and your values.

Books available for purchase and signing. Light refreshments. Probably a lava lamp. Definitely a disco ball. Party like the fate of humanity depends on it.

Author Cheryl Leutjen is an environmental attorney, geologist, and author of Love Earth Now and Madness on the Brink of Eco-Apocalypse. She writes about surviving this moment — climate chaos, adulting, and whatever else tries her patience — with candor, dark humor, and stubborn hope.

Find the link to this and other writerly/readerly events all month long at the North Fig Bookshop website here.
