Caltech Alumni Relations will host Einstein: Beyond the Myth, a public online program on Wednesday, April 15, 12:00 pm – 1:15 pm, exploring Albert Einstein’s years at Caltech and what they reveal about the intersection of science, politics, and public responsibility.
The discussion will examine Einstein’s visits to Pasadena in 1931 and 1933, his scientific collaborations during the emergence of modern cosmology, and the broader political forces that led to his decision not to return to Germany. The program connects Caltech’s history with contemporary questions about the role of scientists in times of global instability.
The conversation will feature Diana L. Kormos-Buchwald, Robert M. Abbey Professor of History and Director of the Einstein Papers Project, in discussion with Patt Morrison, Los Angeles Times columnist and author.
The program will include moderated discussion followed by audience Q&A.
Register by Friday, April 10th here.
