Need some household items fixed but don’t feel handy? El Monte’s LA Fixit Clinic wants to help grow your skills this Saturday, May 30, 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm at El Monte Library.
We often throw away things that stop working and replace them with new ones instead of repairing them. This creates a big problem for our environment because our landfills are filling up too quickly, and electronic waste is a significant source of pollution.
To help address this issue, the LA Fixit team will help you learn how to fix things rather than throw them away.
Whether it’s electronics, appliances, computers, toys, bicycles, clothes, or other items, bring them in for assessment, disassembly, and possible repair. They’ll provide you with a workspace, specialty tools, and guidance to help you disassemble and identify problems. Even if they cannot fix your item, you’ll learn more about how it works and how it was made.
This is a family-friendly event, and children of all ages are welcome to come along and learn too.
The last attendees’ items will be accepted at 2:30 pm.
The event takes place at El Monte Library, 3224 Tyler Ave., El Monte, CA 91731, on Saturday, May 30, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
