The City of Pasadena Parks, Recreation, and Community Services (PRCS) Department, in partnership with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), will host a community Juneteenth Celebration and the NAACP’s 5th Annual Roller Jam on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

The event will take place from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at Pasadena City Hall, located at 100 N. Garfield Ave., and is open to the public.

Attendees can enjoy a variety of free family-friendly activities, including arts and crafts presented by the Armory Center for the Arts, roller skating, a live DJ, and access to community resources. Roller skates will be available to borrow at no cost, and food will be available for purchase throughout the event.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and honors African American history, culture, and resilience. The holiday marks June 19, 1865, when enslaved people in Texas learned they were free, more than two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.

Today, Juneteenth is observed nationwide through reflection, education, and community celebrations that recognize the contributions and experiences of African Americans.

For additional information about the event, community members may contact the PRCS Department at (626) 744-7300.
