vases in different shapes and colorsJoin Synchromy and People Inside Electronics for Brandon Rolle’s new compositional exploration, In-Place.

In-Place explores the intense duality of technology-mediated human interactions. During the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, electronic devices became the primary interface for engaging with one another safely–on the one hand, importing loved ones across unimaginable distances into our breakfast nook; on the other, amplifying our sense of isolation through glitchy screens and unstable connections. In this piece, technology oscillates chaotically between these roles as bridge and barrier between us: individual parts are performed separately but are fundamentally intertwined through a shifting set of connections, revealing an intimate fragility both beautiful and haunting.
