L.A.’s Arroyo Seco Regional Library is introducing a new kind of ‘taking a walk’ this summer, specifically Thursday, July 16, at 6:00 pm.

Arroyo Seco Library is inviting people to join their neighbors for an evening stroll through the heart of the community, and not just walking for exercise. They’re on a mission to capture the iconic images that define Highland Park’s corner of L.A.

They will lead participants on a scenic loop through the neighborhood and ask walkers to snap “postcard-worthy” pictures of local landmarks. In the spirit of staycations, the idea is that by playing tourist in a place you might have come to take for granted, the place itself might surprise you, and your relationship to it might broaden or deepen.

The free event gathers just before 6:00 pm in the Library foyer. Wear comfortable gear, and bring your freshest eyes.
