The Friends of the Pasadena Public Library will host a community book sale on Saturday, May 2, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on the patio of The Friends Bookstore, located at 1500 East Villa Street, between Hill and Allen Avenues, just east of the Jefferson Branch Library.

The sale will feature a wide selection of gently used items, including books, DVDs, CDs, LPs, and a large assortment of children’s titles. Organizers say the event is an opportunity for residents to browse affordable reading and media options while supporting local library programs.
Shoppers can take advantage of a special promotion during the event: fill a paper grocery bag with books from the patio sale for $5. In addition, visitors can head inside the bookstore and fill another bag with books, CDs, and DVDs for $5, excluding premium items. Premium books will be available at 50% off.
Proceeds from the sale will benefit programs across all 10 branches of the Pasadena Public Library system. Funded initiatives include the Summer Reading Club, One City, One Story, Women’s History Month programming, One Book, One Coast, Black History Month, Latino Heritage Month, Asian American and Pacific Islander Month, Native American Heritage Month, and other cultural and educational events.
Founded in 1975, the Friends of the Pasadena Public Library has spent 50 years supporting library services and programming throughout the community. The organization prioritizes projects that inspire curiosity and foster a love of reading among patrons of all ages. In addition to funding programs and special services, the group advocates for full library funding and continues to support innovative efforts that engage readers across Pasadena.
