The Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library will host a free performance of East West Players’ “Tam Tran Goes to Washington” on Tuesday, June 23, at 6:00 pm in the Library Friends Room.
The play tells the true story of Tam Tran, an undocumented UCLA student who becomes an activist and advocate for the DREAM Act.
Following the 45-minute performance, attendees are invited to stay for a panel discussion featuring playwright Elizabeth Wong and community leaders who will explore the themes and issues raised in the production. The program is recommended for teens and adults. Reservations are not required.
