Paired with a free Santana Tribute concert at 7:00 pm, Vincent Lugo Park hosts a full night of free family entertainment that ends with a screening of Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch (2025).

The Disney classic tells the story of a young and parentless girl adopts a ‘dog’ from the local pound, completely unaware that it’s supposedly a dangerous scientific experiment that’s taken refuge on Earth and is now hiding from its creator and those who see it as a menace. Perhaps even more famous than its story is its liberal use of Elvis tunes and Hawaiian music to keep toes tapping throughout. The live-action version updated the animated version last year.

Vincent Lugo Park at the corner of Prospect Ave. & Wells St. has a playground designed by Mexican-American artist Benjamin Dominguez, named La Laguna de San Gabriel aka Dinosaur Park. It’s earned mention as one of nine of America’s coolest playgrounds! La Laguna is home to 14 concrete play structures and an adjacent picnic area with 8 tables and barbecue area, which can accommodate up to 100 people.

Bring a picnic and enjoy a nights stretched out under the summer sky and rocking Elvis tunes.
