Get your questions ready. As part of its month-long Earth Day celebrations, Pasadena Public Library hosts a panel that aims to answer community queries about the ecological impacts around the Eaton Fire and response.

On Saturday, April 4th, at 10:30 am, Hastings Branch Library, 3325 E. Orange Grove Blvd., Pasadena, will be the site for local scientists, land managers, and community organizers to discuss the ecological impacts of wildfire and post‑fire management challenges in Eaton Canyon.

      Panelists:

Christian Mace – Natural Areas Biologist, LA County Parks and Rec
Emilio Sweet-Coll – founder, LA County Prescribed Burn Association
Eli Grossman – moderator, graduate student, Caltech

Organizers write, “Wildfires are not only disasters that impact human lives and infrastructure but also ecological processes which shape the natural world around us. Join us for a conversation about how local scientists, land managers, and community organizers are thinking about fire from an ecological perspective, especially in the context of their work on the Eaton Fire. Topics discussed will include specific post-fire management challenges in Eaton Canyon as well as community-led efforts to change the way we relate to fire.”

Attendees may bring questions or submit them in advance. For ages 13+.
