This Earth Day, step into this urban oasis and get your hands dirty.
Dig In, Pasadena! is a free community Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 25 from 9:30am–12:30pm at Throop Unitarian Universalist Church — three hands-on activities in one joyful morning.
Building Healthy Soil: Nasturtium + Seed Bomb Making
Did you know nasturtiums are edible, medicinal, and absolutely magical in a garden? Come discover what this cheerful powerhouse can do — then get hands-on making seed bombs to scatter back into the world. Every seed bomb is a tiny act of hope. All supplies provided.
Art & Tea: Garden Quiet Time
In a world that never stops moving, we’re carving out a little stillness. Sit down, pick up a colored pencil, and bring a native plant to life on the page. Hot tea is on us. Conversation welcome, silence equally so. Come as you are.
Mini Repair Café (Garden Tools): Sharpen, Fix & Swap
Your neglected trowel? Your rusty shears? They deserve a second life. Our volunteer fixers will have your garden tools singing again — for free. Then browse the swap table stocked with tools, succulents, and drought-tolerant plants. Take what you need, contribute what you can. No money, no catch.
Everything is free and open to all. Bring a friend, bring your tools, bring your curiosity. See you in the garden, Pasadena!
