In observance of Water Awareness Month, JPL Climatologist Bill Patzert will present “California’s Extended Drought: Climate Change or Part of a Long-Term Natural Cycle?“
Patzert is an oceanographer and climatologist at Jet Propulsion Laboratories; he is considered the nation’s foremost expert on the interaction between the ocean and weather patterns. Having studied Southern California’s climate for more than 40 years, he has accurately predicted major droughts and heavy rainfall events resulting from the Pacific Decadel Oscillation (commonly know as the El Niño/La Niña cycle) for decades.
Information on the Group’s hikes, outings, and conservation activities will be available at the meeting. Newcomers are always welcome!
Doors open at 7 pm; Program starts at 7:30 pm.
