“Citizen Jane,” a breakthrough advocacy film, screening in the US and in other countries: New Hampshire, Cornell University, NY, Brigham Young University, UT, Hartford & Bridgeport, CT, Charlotte, NC, Milwaukee, WI, Houston, TX, Turkey and Istanbul. And now screening in Pasadena on Sat., Oct. 14.

Hass is the founder of the UCLA Community Scholars Program, Strategic Actions for a Just Economy (SAJE). Gilda was featured in the film, “CITY RISING.”
“Citizen Jane: Battle for the City” is a documentary following writer-activist Jane Jacobs who fights to preserve Greenwich Village and lower Manhattan from the wrecking ball, expressway construction, and redevelopment of ruthless urban-planner Robert Moses.
It’s a battle between two opposing views questioning the function of the city. One image is the city’s redevelopment plan; the other, living and breathing interconnected neighborhoods. Jane Jacobs fought the fight to bring the city back to its people.
