Can We Bring Native Fish Back In the Arroyo?

      • Staff
        • June 22, 2017

This event will feature expert perspectives on the history of and prospects for native fish in the Arroyo Seco.

Tom Tomlinson, author of “Against the Currents, the Unlikely Story of the Southern California Steelhead,” will discuss the breathtaking steelhead that used to frolick in the Arroyo stream before heading out to the Pacific Ocean.

Wendy Katagi and AJ Keith, restoration specialists from Stillwater Sciences, will cover the current status of native fish in the Arroyo and what can be done to restore conditions for them.

John Goraj of the Arroyo Seco Foundation will talk about ASF’s current fish and habitat work and how interested people can get involved in bringing back native fish to this key tributary of the Los Angeles River.

This will be a seminal event in shaping the future of the Arroyo Seco and determining whether we want concrete or fish in the Arroyo for ourselves and future generations. Don’t miss it.

Sponsored by the Arroyo Seco Foundation.
