      Enjoy a two-for-one musical evening at Caltech’s Ramo Auditorium (inside Donald E. Baxter M.D. Hall of the Humanities and Social Sciences at 1200 E. California Blvd.), offered both Friday and Saturday nights, May 8 and 9, from 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm.

      Classical First Half

      The classical form fills the first half of the program, featuring two of the most beloved historic composers for the wind band, Percy Grainger and Gustav Holst, alongside of two of the most vital composers of today, Britain’s Philip Sparke and the leading composer of wind music today, Frank Ticheli.

      • Dance Movements by Philip Sparke

      Jazzy Second Half

      This concert also features the acclaimed Caltech Jazz Band, under the direction of Barb Catlin.

      The Jazz Band will perform iconic selections by Stan Kenton, Bob Mintzer, Thad Jones, Chucho Valdes, and Gordon Goodwin, as well as an original composition by Caltech grad student Phil Kocheril.
