“Burned” anthology book launch to benefit Side Street Projects (Photo – burnedproject.com)
A new creative anthology, BURNED, brings together twenty‑four writers and artists to explore the many faces of fire—its destruction, its symbolism, and its unexpected flashes of humor and humanity.
The collection spans stories, essays, poems, and artwork shaped by surrealism, imagination, and deeply personal reflection, offering readers an experience that is both intimate and surprising.
Edited by Nicholas Davidge, who lost his home in the Eaton Fire, and Alana White, a longtime Pasadena resident, the project is rooted in community resilience. All profits from the book will be donated to Side Street Projects, a nonprofit supporting creative work in the Altadena and Pasadena communities in the aftermath of the Eaton Fire. The editors and several contributing authors will host a special reading and signing this Friday, June 5, giving attendees the chance to hear live excerpts from the anthology and meet the creators behind the work.
The event celebrates creativity, honors those affected by the Eaton Fire, and highlights the power of art to rebuild and reconnect communities. It takes place Friday, June 5, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm at Fables & Fancies, 50 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., Sierra Madre.
