It’s one thing to read about the Arroyo Seco Water Reuse Project, but there’s another, even better avenue to understand it: see it on the ground.
Active SGV (San Gabriel Valley) is hosting a free, two-hour walking tour of the Arroyo Seco this Sunday, June 14. The free walk begins at Arroyo Park, 614 Stoney Drive, South Pasadena, at 9:00 am.
This is a chance to get up close with the water infrastructure running through Pasadena and South Pasadena. You’ll walk the actual project sites, hear from guides about how both cities are working to capture stormwater runoff before it reaches the Arroyo Seco channel, and see it all firsthand.
The route covers about one mile of mixed terrain, including unpaved paths and dirt trails. Good walking shoes, a water bottle, and sun protection such as a hat or sunscreen (or both) are all recommended.
An online RSVP is appreciated (not required) to help organizers anticipate numbers. Enjoy the brisk morning walk and water talk!
