Taking Pride in Altadena (File Photo – Staff)
Join Altadena Library for Altadena’s 4th annual Altadena Pride Walkabout.
This year’s celebration places emphasis on the community’s core values of resilience, resistance, and joy. Each component of the day functions as a stand-alone event. Attendees are welcome to experience the entire afternoon or join for individual segments.
Schedule
- 3:00 pm – Opening Ceremony at Altadena Library
Kathryn Barger will open the day with an unveiling of a Pride flag. Participants will be provided with free flags. - 3:30 pm – Walkabout through Central Altadena
Participants will take part in an incredible celebratory walk of defiance and strength through the devastation and hold each other up with joy and community pride. - 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm – Community Gathering, Concert, and Resource Tables
The Altadena Library Parking Lot will be filled with free entertainment and a wide selection of resource tables and giveaways. - 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm – Spiritual Exploration and Community Healing Sanctuary
The healing sanctuary in the Altadena Library Community Room will offer a strong contingent of faith leaders in a wide variety of spiritual practices. - 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm – Youth Sanctuary
The Altadena Library Main Floor will be a VIP area for youth up through college age. They will be offered a variety of activities in addition to the safe space reserved for them.
