Cheeseburger Week in Pasadena is Jan. 22 to Jan 28! And to celebrate the classic cheeseburger, dine in or order to-go at some local restaurants before taking on the Cheeseburger Challenge and voting for your favorites.
By News Desk
Did you know that the first cheeseburger was (allegedly) made in Pasadena? In 1924, Lionel Sternberger sold the (possibly) first cheeseburger as an “Aristocratic Burger” at The Rite Spot on 1500 West Colorado Boulevard. Now, even though The Rite Spot is gone, a plaque commemorating the creation of the first cheeseburger is still there.
Many local restaurants such as Pie ‘n Burger and El Portal will be having special burgers and deals throughout the week. Once you have had your fill of burgers, don’t forget to vote for your favorites in categories such as best vegetarian burger or best turkey burger.
