Known as the twisted sister of the conventional Rose Parade, the Pasadena Doo Dah Parade is coming back to its roots in Old Pasadena on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023.

Are you a homemade conveyance, art car, mutant vehicle, living room furniture, eccentric marching band, rockin’ band, performance artist, cornball, show-stopper, hoofer or crooner, pundit, anachronist, believer or nonbeliever, fantasist, surrealist, Dadaist, space traveler, time traveler, absurdist, weirdo, type A, type B, type C, campy schtick, satirist, or country western hick? Then this Parade is for you!
On Doo Dah day, the street will swell with a cast of local eccentrics, dissenters, pundits, lone wolfs, steam punks, and merrymakers. Popular food trucks will be selling tasty treats at food stands along the parade route.
- Come early, bring a lawn chair.
- Visit the local eateries and shops, and
- Attend the after-parties, all within walking distance.
The Doo Dah Parade does not exist without its volunteers. If you’ve got it, head to their website and sign up.
Location Old Pasadena (TBD)

Clarification is needed. The Star-News in this morning’s edition (Aug. 10) says the parade will be held in east Pasadena between San Gabriel Blvd. and Sierra Madre Blvd. That area is certainly NOT Old Pasadena. A follow up with details and corrections is certainly needed.
We stand by our information. The Doo Dah Parade will take place in Old Pasadena. Specific location has not been determined yet.
This is good news. However, I would like to have seen more information on why and how the Doo Dah Parade got back into Old Pasadena. After all the businesses there chased them out many years ago. It would be nice to have a story that goes into more detail about what caused this to happen.
