Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc. Pasadena (CA) Alumni Chapter will host a Donation Drive on Saturday, December 14, to support Pasadena Black Infant Health Participants.

Pasadena Public Health Department’s Black Infant Health (BIH) program and Pasadena (CA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc. are accepting new and unused baby items for the annual Drive-Thru Donation Drop-Off on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 9:00 am to noon at 1855 N. Fair Oaks Ave in Pasadena.
Donations are supporting BIH families.
New and unused items for newborns are accepted, such as:
- Diapers
- Baby wipes
- Bibs and clothing
- Baby bottles
- Baby wash sets
- Diaper bags
- Baby formula
“We are excited to support the annual donation drive and make a lasting impact on the community,” said Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc. Pasadena (CA) Alumni Chapter Polemarch, Jarvis Sams.
Black babies in America die in their first year of life at more than twice the rate of babies from all other populations because they are born too soon and are too small. In addition, more Black women die during pregnancy and childbirth than any other ethnic group. For 35 years, the Pasadena BIH program has served pregnant and postpartum Black birthing people and their children. The Black Infant Health program aims to help women have healthy babies through providing stress reduction strategies and developing life skills in a culturally affirming environment.
“We are grateful for the support and generosity demonstrated by our community,” said Acting Director of Public Health, Manuel Carmona. “These contributions will assist families by providing them with crucial resources.”
