Don Penman Appointed South Pasadena Interim City Manager

The South Pasadena City Council has selected Don Penman to serve as Interim City Manager by a vote of 5-0.

Don Penman previously served for 14 years in Arcadia, having retired as City Manager in 2011. In his post-retirement career, Penman served as interim city manager for several cities, including Azusa, Calabasas, Covina, San Fernando, Temple City and most recently for the City of Ventura. He was the previous City Manager for the cities of Baldwin Park and San Fernando.

Penman has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California and his public service career spans over 40 years primarily working in full-service cities with police and fire.

Don Penman said:

I am honored that the City Council has selected me to be their interim City Manager. I look forward to working with the City Council, City staff and the community during this transitional period.”
