      • Amadou Fall and Abdoulaye Sow: West African music on the kora, djembe, and dun dun
        Location: Rose Garden
        4:00 pm – 4:45 pm and 5:15 pm – 6:00 pm
        A native of Senegal, Amadou Fall has developed a beautiful repertoire and hopes to bring people from all walks of life together with music from Africa, all through the breath-taking sounds of his kora. Abdoulaye Sow, a djembe and dun dun artist, brings innovative fusions of traditional African rhythms with contemporary influences.
      • Ethio Cali: African Jazz ensemble
        Location: Amphitheater
        5:00 pm – 5:45 pm and 6:15 pm – 7:00 pm
        Ethio Cali is a Los Angeles-based African – Jazz ensemble, led by trumpeter, arranger, and composer Todd Simon. The ensemble’s sublime sound is inspired by the golden age of Ethiopian music of the 1960’s and 70’s, filtered through a lens that is uniquely Los Angeles. Acknowledging the diverse musical foundations of Ethio-Jazz, the ensemble also draws inspiration from the rhythmic and melodic textures across Africa, Central/Latin America, and the Caribbean.

      Note: Chairs, blankets, outside food, and picnics are not permitted.
