Los Angeles’ self-conducted string ensemble, Delirium Musicum, returns to live performances this October with a show in Pasadena.
By News Desk
These 13 fearless musicians, led by violinist and Artistic Director Etienne Gara, are dedicated to providing impassioned and engaging musical performances. Influenced by the bustling artistic mosaic found only in LA, the group applies dazzling creativity and limitless excitement to their performances.
The program for both performances will take the audience on a journey from the Baroque era to today’s composers, with pieces by Aaron Copland, Gabriela Lena Frank, Franz Schubert, J.S. Bach, Gianluca Bersanetti, Antonio Vivaldi, Jonny Greenwood, Jörg Widmann, and more.
Delirium Musicum represents the artistic excellence and leadership of the young generation of musicians in Los Angeles. The spontaneity of their musical approach, and the juxtaposition of music from all time periods, allows the musicians to bond and engage intimately with the audience. Creative and unapologetic interpretation of the old masters as well as collaboration with contemporary composers brings to life a dialogue about new ways to explore music as it pertains to life.
Delirium Musicum Sat., Oct. 29 7:30 pm PASADENA CITY COLLEGE - WESTERBECK RECITAL HALL 1570 East Colorado Boulevard / Pasadena, CA 91106 Tickets: $25 and available here.
