With heat warnings in effect this weekend, Los Angeles County residents without access to air conditioning are encouraged to seek relief at free cooling centers.

The sites are especially important for older adults, children and others who are more vulnerable to heat-related illnesses, helping reduce the risk of heat exhaustion and other heat-related conditions.
The following cooling centers will be open this weekend:
Amelia Mayberry Park
13201 Meyer Road, Whittier 90605
- Thursday: 10:30 am – 9:00 pm
- Friday: 10:30 am – 7:00 pm
- Saturday: 8:30 am – 7:00 pm
- Sunday: 10:30 am – 7:00 pm
This location is pet-friendly. Dogs must remain on a leash at all times, and owners must stay with their pets. Visitors are encouraged to bring pet carriers if available.
El Monte Library
