Coalition for Clean Air Offers Up to $1,000 for California Clean Air Day Events

Community organizations, schools, cities, small businesses, and other groups have an opportunity to receive funding to support local clean air awareness events ahead of California Clean Air Day.

The Coalition for Clean Air is offering microgrants of up to $1,000 to help organizations host events that educate residents about air quality, encourage clean air practices, and inspire community action.

To qualify, events must take place on or within seven days prior to California Clean Air Day, which will be observed on October 7, 2026. Eligible events should focus on clean air education and engagement and involve at least 100 participants.

Past funded projects have included bike-to-school days, tree planting events, clean air fairs, no-idling campaigns, youth art contests, and other community-focused activities.

Grant funds may be used to cover event-related expenses such as supplies, permits, marketing, educational materials, and other essential costs.

Applications must be submitted online by Friday, July 17, at 5:00 pm.

Organizers interested in creating impactful community events are encouraged to apply and help promote cleaner air across California.
