More rain is coming.
By Tera Landers
Remember when it was over 100 in the summer, and you wondered if the rain barrel would have a chance to be full?
Ever since I was a child, rainstorms seemed magical to me. Growing up in the foothills of the Ozarks, we saw late afternoon summer thunderstorms roll in. The light changed, the winds started up, and I felt an equal balance of anticipation and terror, as the storms also brought the threat of tornadoes. The air felt alive, and so did I. My head and body and heart were aligned in their awareness of the coming storm.
May the rains that come offer you a sense of cleansing, renewal, and awareness, so perfect at the start of a new year.
For fun, check out a favorite song of mine by the Wailin’ Jennys: “Storm Comin’ “
