The City of South Pasadena has officially resumed the enforcement of overnight parking restrictions and 72-hour parking violations, effective April 7, 2025. This follows a temporary suspension of parking regulations due to the aftermath of the Eaton Fire, which affected many residents in the area.

With recovery efforts progressing, the city has reinstated standard parking regulations to ensure public safety, maintain community accessibility, and facilitate the restoration of normal operations.

Support for Fire-Displaced Residents

In recognition of the ongoing challenges faced by those displaced by the Eaton Fire, the City is offering an exemption from overnight parking permit requirements until May 5, 2025. This temporary exemption is intended to assist individuals and families affected by the fire. To qualify, applicants must provide one of the following forms of documentation

• Proof of Residence:
  This may include utility bills, lease agreements, or government-issued IDs showing the affected address.
• Official Evacuation Notice or Emergency Declaration:
  Residents may submit documentation from local authorities—such as the fire department or emergency management agencies—confirming that their home was within an evacuation zone or a declared disaster area.

Obtaining Overnight Parking Permits

Residents who require overnight parking in areas subject to the regulations are encouraged to apply for a permit. These permits can be conveniently purchased online through the City’s official website at southpasadenaca.gov.
