Chu Tours New Bike Lane Projects

On Tuesday, Dec. 22, Representative Judy Chu (CA-27) toured the Urban Trails Network in Glendora with Mayor Karen Davis, City Manager Adam Raymond, Transportation Manager Steven Mateer, Active SGV Executive Director David Diaz and several other city officials.

The Urban Trails Network is the city’s plan to create more walking and biking paths for residents, making it more convenient and safer to reach important cultural, entertainment, and shopping districts in the city.

The plan is also part of a larger vision of connecting several cities in the San Gabriel Valley as part of the Greenway Network, a system of interconnected bike paths that will help San Gabriel Valley residents move across the region while also reducing carbon emissions. Representative Chu praised the city’s efforts and announced that with the passage of the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the city will be eligible for additional funding that will help complete this important project and make Glendora more walkable and bikeable. These improvements will not only reduce traffic in the city and offer a energy-efficient method of transportation, but will also boost outdoors activities and make it easier for residents to enjoy all the incredible amenities the City of Glendora has to offer.

Rep. Chu touted new spending thanks to the bipartisan infrastructure law that will free up more state funding and launch more projects that create new construction, new jobs, and growth throughout the San Gabriel Valley.
