      WASHINGTON, D.C. —  ColoradoBoulevard.net:

On June 30, 2022, nearly a week after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Rep. Judy Chu (CA-27) attended a peaceful Planned Parenthood civil disobedience rally on Capitol grounds, where she was subsequently arrested alongside other activists.

      By News Desk

On her decision to join the peaceful demonstration, Rep. Chu said:

When I first heard Roe was overturned, I immediately thought of who would be most harmed by this decision: a young girl who is a survivor of rape, a woman who cannot afford to travel to another state to access critical care, an expecting mother with an ectopic pregnancy whose life is in danger because she cannot have an abortion.

So, when I think of all these women — and more — the decision to join in a peaceful demonstration to make clear we will not allow the clock to be rolled back on abortion rights was easy.

We are in this together and we will not back down or be silenced. I am ramping up my calls to abolish the Senate filibuster — and actively exploring every option to ensure we pass my bill, the Women’s Health Protection Act, which establishes a federal right to abortion care, and have it signed into law.

Lives are at stake and this fight is far from over.”

Rep. Chu was among 181 protesters arrested near the Supreme Court. Protesters sat on the concrete, in 90 degree weather, while Capitol Police warned them to move three times before moving to make the arrests.

SHAME on her!!! She, the Democrat Leadership, and rank-and-file Dems who didn’t support Bernie Sanders in the 2016 Dem Primary are responsible for Trump being able to appt 3 Radical right-wing Justices and the overturning of Roe v. Wade!

They all rather take a chance that HRC might beat Trump (polls be damned) than have the possibility of a President Sanders.

You can’t protect your Big $ donors and your own self interest AND care about the rights of The People.

Gee.. here we go with another Bernie supporter wondering why he did not get the support he needed and blaming others – statistics shows it is Bernie supporter who did not show up to support HRC – but that is something you don’t want people to remind you… Here is the story from NPR ” 12 percent of people who voted for Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., in the 2016 Democratic presidential primaries voted for President Trump in the general election. That is according to the data from the Cooperative Congressional Election Study”
