Changes to Amazon Fresh Pasadena: Krispy Kreme Is Coming to Town

Amazon Fresh, located on the corner of Colorado Boulevard and Madre, has been making a few changes.

      By Diane Orona

Donuts are dancing their way into our city. Gone is the butcher department and, in its place, is a sign for Krispy Kreme Donuts. Hopefully it will include their signature conveyor belt where the donuts are made fresh throughout the day.

Amazon has also suspended its “Just Walk Out” technology, at least temporarily, so your Amazon account information and palm scans are no longer required at the entrance. Now you can simply pay with cash, card, or with your Amazon account, but plan on having a cashier ring up your goods.

Also, the property owner, The Kutzer Company, is currently developing other buildings on the site. They will include a single standalone southwest corner tenant and one to four tenant spaces to the west side of the store.  These new spaces are not part of Amazon and will be up for lease once completed. We’ll keep you updated on what moves in and when!

Without the $10 off $20 coupon it’s a waste of money to shop there. If we want to just walk out with our stuff without paying we can apparently do that anywhere now 🙁 The baked-in-store pizza is really good, though. Only reason I’ve seen to go back and it’s within walking distance.

Without the walkout – there’s no point to this concept. The food is expensive and the produce is regularly rotten. I’ve asked for refunds routinely on spoiled produce. I went there for the novelty of not having to deal with the cashier. Now it makes zero sense.

I like the Just Walk Outway,
Now I can not feel any technology in it.
        It’s so normal.

They put a Krispy Kreme that doesn’t even make hot donuts in south Pasadena and it’s the dumbest thing. Hope that’s not the case for the Pasadena location.

Who cares if there’s a drive through if the donuts aren’t even fresh or made there.
