Blossom Market Hall was the site of celebration on Thursday, Feb. 23 night, as local leaders, community members and guests attended a reception for the In Living Color art exhibit, currently on display in the gallery of the hall.

The exhibit, sponsored by local resident, Dr. Chasity Jennings-Nuñez, is in memory and honor of her father, James N. Jennings, and in celebration of Black History Month. Art work from Jennings and Chicago-based African-American artist Lindsey E. Bates is featured in the second floor gallery at Blossom Market.
San Gabriel City Council members and members from the San Gabriel Human Equity, Access and Relations (HEAR) commission joined local business owners, community members and guests to admire the artwork and enjoy the gathering. The reception, which featured catering by Caribbean Gourmet, San Gabriel’s only Black-owned restaurant, ended with a raffle of items curated from Black-owned and Black-led companies.
Adela Angiuli, local resident and Executive Director of the San Gabriel Educational Foundation loved being a part of the celebration. “The artwork was fabulous! The food was delicious! Everything was just beautiful and everyone had a wonderful time!”
