      PASADENA – ColoradoBoulevard.net:

Playhouse Village Association (PVA) will celebrate Playhouse Village Park’s first anniversary with Party in the Park, an evening for the entire family with a live music performance, arts & crafts for kids, giant games, and more.

      By News Desk

The free celebration at Playhouse Village Park, 701 East Union Street, will take place from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 17.   To commemorate this milestone, Party in the Park will feature a free evening concert with a live performance by Susie Hansen Latin Jazz Trio presented by The Ice House Comedy Club. Bring your blanket or chair and enjoy the band’s infectious blend of salsa and Latin jazz. Other highlights will include art activities with Drawn2Art, a children’s books library from Vroman’s Bookstore, and giant games courtesy of Playhouse Village Foundation.

“We are thrilled to celebrate one year of Playhouse Village Park bringing our community together through memorable events and experiences,” said Arash Danialifar, PVA Board Chair. “We look forward to continuing to foster connections and spread joy for many years to come in the heart of Pasadena.”

Over the past year, Playhouse Village Park has hosted a variety of family-favorite activities: live jazz concerts, outdoor movie screenings, dog-themed programs and recreational meetups. Party at the Park is the culmination of a year’s worth of free activities and events for all ages at Playhouse Village Park, generously supported by the Playhouse Village Foundation (PVF).

“We are proud to support programs that elevate the arts and activate the vibrant center of our Playhouse Village neighborhood” said PVF Board Chair Phil Hawkey. “None of this would be possible without the support of our generous sponsors and donors, dedicated volunteers, and everyone who has attended our events over the past year.”

Playhouse Village Park opened in 2022 and is the area’s first urban park, featuring open space for informal recreation, relaxation, and community gatherings, a shaded children’s play area, the Van Halen stage, separate dog runs for large and small dogs, benches and seating, and a 48-space parking plaza. Playhouse Village Park is located at 701 E Union St. in Pasadena.

Party in the Park is supported by Playhouse Village Foundation and The Ice House Comedy Club.
