California voters who miss the deadline to register or update their voter registration information still have an opportunity to participate in elections through Same Day Voter Registration, known in state law as Conditional Voter Registration.
By News Desk
The program serves as a safety net for eligible citizens who need to register or re-register to vote within 14 days of an election. Individuals can complete the process and cast a ballot at their county elections office, polling place, or vote center.
According to the Elections Division, ballots submitted through the Same Day Voter Registration process will be processed and counted after the county elections office completes voter registration verification.
Voters seeking early voting locations where they can complete the registration process can visit caearlyvoting.sos.ca.gov. Those who need to register on Election Day can use the state’s polling place lookup tool to find their local polling location.
Residents with questions about locations where Same Day Voter Registration is available are encouraged to contact their county elections office for assistance.
Military and overseas voters, as well as voters with disabilities, are advised to contact their county elections office to learn about conditional voter registration and voting options available to them.
The Elections Division also provides information and resources on voter registration, voting in California, ballot measures, political parties, upcoming elections, statewide election results, voting technology, and other election-related services.
All voting centers are open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm on election day. Find your voting center at this link.
