The talented team, consisting of Simon Li, Christopher Woo, Jayden Sercena, and Ian Ching, competed against 30 other teams, showcasing their technical skill and teamwork. Their outstanding performance earned them the coveted Champions Finalist award, as well as first-place finishes in two major categories: Robot Performance and the On-the-Spot Challenge.
The Trenchacles’ victory at the Spring Showdown follows their earlier triumph at the 2024 SoCal Regional Championship, where they also secured a first-place spot. With one more season ahead before transitioning to high school, these young innovators have already proven themselves as forces to be reckoned with in the world of robotics.
“Winning three trophies at such a prestigious event is a huge accomplishment for our students,” the team’s coaches said. “Their dedication, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork have set a high standard for future WSGV FIRST teams.”
As the Trenchacles prepare for their final season together, they continue to inspire their peers with their determination and passion for robotics. The entire school community is immensely proud of their hard work and success.
Congratulations to the Trenchacles for their incredible achievements, and best of luck in the seasons ahead!
