Bloom Again Foundation announces and welcomes its board of directors for 2023. The organization provides rapid-response financial assistance for rent to working women living at or near the poverty level when medical challenges stretch their already limited resources.
A volunteer group of women from various backgrounds, this year’s board of directors is led by Co-Presidents Rosetta Henderson and Carolyn Sims. Henderson serves as the Community Outreach Project Manager for Southern California Edison and Sims is the Senior Manager, Community and Climate Equity at the same utility company. Other directors are Treasurer Rita Boccuzzi, a financial consultant and money coach, who is the CEO of Flourish Inc, Secretary Victoire Prothro, who is former interim executive director at SLO Climate Coalition and is now their equity adviser, and Marisol Barrios Perez, who is the CEO of Mission Driven PR.
“After serving on the board of directors for 10 years, I am grateful to now serve in the capacity of co-president,” said Sims. “Bloom Again Foundation has always been near and dear to my heart because of our mission. The support we receive from our donors, partnerships, and fundraising events provides the support to make an impact in the lives of these women when they need it the most.”
The board of directors also bid farewell to Zee Najarian, who is a clarity coach and founder of Bloom Coffee LA. Having recently served as the co-president of the board, Najarian volunteered on the board for 10 years.
Women with a medical diagnosis are referred through the collaboration with community partners, providing their clients, patients, and parishioners with the financial support they need while they are receiving treatment or recovering. To learn more about Bloom Again Foundation, visit bloomagain.org.
