Residents of Altadena will have more time to enjoy the Loma Alta Park Pool this year after a one-time grant from Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger extended the 2026 summer pool season through Sept. 30.

The extended season, which runs from Aug. 24 through Sept. 30, will provide additional opportunities for families, seniors, and other residents to stay active during the late-summer heat.
Programs will include recreational swimming, lap swimming, water exercise classes, swim lessons, and other aquatic activities. Free morning lap swimming also will be available for adults 65 and older and for people with disabilities.
“Access to safe, affordable recreational opportunities is especially important as our Altadena community continues to recover and rebuild,” Barger said. “I was pleased to provide the funding that made this extended pool season possible so children, families, seniors, and residents of all ages can continue enjoying this valuable community resource.”
Loma Alta Park Pool is located at 3330 N. Lincoln Ave. in Altadena.
County officials said the extended season reflects Barger’s continued commitment to community wellness by expanding access to recreational programs that promote health, safety, and quality of life for Altadena residents.
