The 2024/2025 Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour is coming to Caltech’s campus on March 4.

This event is hosted by the Caltech Alpine Club and is open to the public. Since 2001, the Caltech Alpine Club has hosted the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour. Stopping at over 550 locations in 40 countries around the globe, the Tour celebrates the winning films shown at the annual Festival in Banff, Canada – one of the world’s premier exhibitions of alpine culture films – and features epic films about adrenaline-fueled adventures, the intersectionality of culture and sports, explorations of remote landscapes, and more.
The pre-show reception is at 6:00 pm on Beckman Mall. Socialize with one another, meet local sponsors, and complete the sponsor passport activity to earn three free raffle tickets. Complimentary snacks and beer from Cerveceria del Pueblo will be provided on a first come, first served basis. The main show will be at 7:00 pm in Beckman Auditorium. The show will be 2.5 hours, including a 30 minute intermission with a raffle drawing featuring prize giveaways. For the full film lineup, click here.
Event tickets are $10 for students and $20 for non-students. Students with valid student ID may purchase up to two tickets at $10 each. A small processing fee will apply to all credit card transactions.
Tickets can be purchased either (1) in-person at the Caltech ticket office from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday-Friday, (2) over the phone by calling the Ticket office at (626) 395-4652 (you may need to leave a message), (3) at the Beckman Auditorium box office (outside the auditorium on the west side) after 5:00 pm on show day, or (4) online here (non-student rate only; you will receive a digital ticket to scan at the door). The purchase of a Film Festival ticket will include one free raffle ticket that will be handed out when you enter the auditorium.
100% of net event proceeds go directly to the Caltech Alpine Club. Caltech Alpine Club funding is used for a variety of purposes oriented around promoting safety and accessibility in the outdoors. These include organizing outdoor adventure trips for club members, hosting speakers, providing free outdoor gear and equipment for Caltech community use, subsidizing professional outdoor safety courses, and much more.
Parking is free after 5:00 pm in the parking structures along Wilson Ave. (north and south garages). There is also a parking lot north of Beckman Auditorium.
