As COVID-19 Lurks, Families Look to Vaccine & Boosters

      ALHAMBRA – ColoradoBoulevard.net:

While school is out for summer and families look to spend quality time with friends and family, COVID-19 seems to have re-emerged in a new variant form.  The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health reports a sharp increase in positive test results over the last week topping 5,000 per day. Hospitalizations are back up too, currently at about 900.

      By Ari Gutierrez Arambula

This means COVID-19 still lingers in our midst.  As much as we have enjoyed the freedom of not having to wear masks, and our children, while on summer vacation are no longer taking weekly COVID tests, we clearly cannot rely on wishful thinking to avoid the ill effects of COVID-19.  Now is the time for prevention ahead of the new school year.  If you have not yet done so, you should vaccinate.  If you have, then it may be time for a boost.  This goes for children, young adults of all ages (this means you).  And – in case you missed it, younger children are also now eligible for a vaccination!

All Souls Catholic Church Hosts COVID-19 Outreach Event Sunday, July 10, 2022

As part of L.A. County’s federally funded outreach effort, The Wellness Center Los Angeles, part of the LAC+USC Medical Center, is conducting mobile outreach events at churches, schools, and community centers.  As All Souls Catholic Church is affiliated with All Souls World Language Catholic School, the pastor agreed to host the COVID-19 vaccination event in the parking lot at 1500 West Main Street in Alhambra,  from 7:00 am to 12:30 pm on Sunday, July 10, 2022.

The event is open to all residents of the San Gabriel Valley.  For more information and to schedule an appointment for all members of the family at this link.  If needed, attendants can help set up the appointment at the site on the day of the event. See the flier in English, Spanish, or Chinese at vaccine.fulgentgenetics.com/vaccination/screen/landing?siteid=FSS-STE00055 for additional information.

        Hi Ari,

Please update the statement “The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works reports a sharp increase in positive test results over the last week topping 5,000 per day.” It should state “The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health”
