      A free evening of art, music and entertainment as Pasadena’s most prominent arts and cultural institutions swing open their doors on Friday, March 9, 2018.

      The night is yours to decide. Begin your journey at any one of our 19 participating cultural institutions, where free shuttles will be waiting to transport you to your next destination.

      1 ARMORY CENTER FOR THE ARTS

      Diane Christensen and Jeanne Dunning: Birth Death Breath An opera “performed” by inflatable lawn decorations in various stages of inflation and deflation, prompting existential questions about life, death, purpose and meaning.
      2 ARTCENTER COLLEGE OF DESIGN
      Williamson Gallery

      Explore modern and contemporary non-iPhone images of the self, in this LACMA/ArtCenter collaboration, This is Not A Selfie: Photographic Self-Portraits from the Audrey and Sydney Irmas Collection.
      3 artWORKS TEEN CENTER

      artWORKS teens display their talents through live performances and visual arts. Come for an interactive evening that includes hands-on printmaking and stamping, alongside musical entertainment.
      4  PASADENA CITY HALL
      100 N. Garfield Ave. Metro Art will talk about free art tours and offer a woodworking workshop with Side Street Projects. At City Hall, you can enjoy a snack, listen to live music, and catch a free shuttle to one of the many cultural venues open for the night.
      5 JACKIE ROBINSON COMMUNITY CENTER

      Enjoy artwork from Alkebu-lan Cultural Center; learn about the history of African American art and the legacy of Pasadena and world icons Jackie and Mack Robinson.
      6 KIDSPACE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM
      480 N. Arroyo Blvd.
      Art is visible, even in the dark. Explore luminescent artistry at Kidspace. Create captivating rainbow images, make a glowing diorama, and interact with the hula hoop glow field.       7 LIGHT BRINGER PROJECT @ DAY ONE

      Down the Rabbit Hole An outdoor wonderland of art featuring site specific installations, Room 13 creations, dream-inducing music and other playful imaginings from the mirror world.
      8 LINEAGE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

      626.844.7008Lineage is a home for connecting through the arts. On ArtNight, Lineage will present local performing artists alternating between live dance and live music.
      9 MUSE/IQUE
      300 E. Colorado Blvd.
      MUSE/IQUE creates street-rocking rhythms and jaw-dropping dance moves at Paseo Colorado Garfield Promenade. This free party features live music and family-friendly art activities.
      10 NORTON SIMON MUSEUM

      Enjoy Taking Shape: Degas as Sculptor, an exhibition that explores the improvisational nature of Edgar Degas’s artistic practice and considers the affinities between sculpting, painting and drawing in his oeuvre.

      Blast through time and space in Dreaming the Universe to explore how artistry, scientific/technological advancements, and changing society shaped Southern California’s Science Fiction community (1930–1980).

      Join us for an evening where we will explore the collaborative and playful aspects of acting! Participants will learn group games and exercises, and then dive into scene work.
      17 PUSD at First United Methodist Church

      No Boundaries 13 showcases tthe artistic talents of PUSD students in the beautiful surroundings of First United Methodist Church. Hundreds of artworks are on view accompanied by student performances.
      18 SHUMEI ARTS COUNCIL

      Enjoy taiko drumming by Makoto Taiko at 6:15 pm, 7:15 pm, 8:15 pm and 9:15 pm, and Kimono Show by LA Kimono Club. Also, view inspiring drawings of children of indigenous people by artist Deborah Lomas.
