If you are an artist living in Los Angeles County, over 18 years old, and like to showcase your art at the original downtown of Pasadena, then this event is for you. Old Pasadena Management District has put out a call for submissions for its 2018 BoldPas, a one-day “art takeover” of historic Old Pasadena.
2018 BoldPas is designed to build public awareness of Old Pasadena’s unique urban and historic spaces and to encourage visitors to enjoy the space, history, and character of the district.
The installations’ specifications should be medium- to large-scale, site-specific public installations, community friendly and showcase color, fun, surprise, and playfulness. A component of public interaction is a plus.
Submissions will be selected by staff at Old Pasadena Management. Submitted work must be original and not displayed elsewhere at a prior time.
This one day event is scheduled for May 12, 2018. This year, Old Pasadena Management District has increased the artists’ awards to 12 total, four at $1,000 each and eight at $500 each.
Individual artists may submit up to three proposals by emailing entries to events@oldpasadena.org with the subject line BoldPas Submission (download PDF here).
Submissions deadline is Friday, February 23, 2018 at 5:00pm.
