Pasadena is home to world class institutions which open their doors to collaboration and community.

      By Michelle Garrett

ArtCenter College of Design recently lent its influence and talent in helping Pasadena reboot its local area transit system.  The new brand, Pasadena Transit, features a new name and logo along with the same great service and six convenient routes that service over 1.5 million passengers on an annual basis.

ArtCenter graduate Julie Yeow developed the clean, bold logo and branding materials for the City’s Department of Transportation.  Yeow’s theme retains a “friendly energy” to communicate Pasadena Transit’s goal of connecting people and places in Pasadena.  To convey the theme of making connections, Yeow integrated iconic images of Pasadena including the Colorado Street Bridge, the national historical landmark Pasadena City Hall, the Civic Auditorium and ArtCenter.

The branding campaign was a collaborative, multi-year effort by the City with ArtCenter.  Year after year in similar collaborations, major companies from around the world work with ArtCenter students and faculty on their marketing, branding and logo campaigns.
