Nearly four years after the tragic and senseless killing of 13-year-old Iran Moreno, authorities have announced a major breakthrough: two suspects have been arrested in connection with his death, marking a significant step forward in a case that has long haunted the community.

      By News Desk

On the evening of November 20, 2021, Iran was at home with his family on the 900 block of North Raymond Avenue. While playing video games in his bedroom, a bullet fired from across the street pierced his window and fatally struck him. The gunfire, originating from a nearby parking lot, shattered not just the glass but the hearts of those who knew and loved the young teen.

Following a years-long investigation, the Pasadena Police Department’s Robbery Homicide Unit (RHU) arrested two suspects this month.

On July 16, 2025, 31-year-old Teraeja Flemmings was arrested in the City of San Fernando by RHU detectives and the U.S. Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force.

On July 18, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office charged Abdul-Malik with murder (Penal Code 187(a)) and possession of a firearm by a felon (Penal Code 29800(a)(1)). His bail was set at $3 million. He remains in custody in Florida pending extradition.

Flemmings was charged with felony murder (Penal Code 187(a)) with bail set at $2 million.

“This was a tragic and senseless act that took the life of a young boy with his entire future ahead of him,” said Pasadena Police officials in a statement. “While nothing can undo that loss, we hope these arrests bring some measure of closure to his family and our community.”

Pasadena Police thanked the agencies involved and the public for their support during the investigation.

Authorities are still encouraging anyone with information related to the case to come forward. Tips can be reported to Pasadena Police at (626) 744-4241, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477), via the “P3 Tips” mobile app, or online at lacrimestoppers.org.

I remember that. My fellow school bus drivers were warning everybody to avoid that neighborhood.

Thank you for sharing this ColoradoBoulevard.net. He was a student at Blair and his senseless murder rocked the school’s community. I hope it’ll brings a measure of peace to his family that the perpetrators are being held to account.
